A camel coat is a timeless staple of any wardrobe. I have hunted high-and-low for a camel coat that suits my skin tone and my figure. You would think that all camel-colored coats are the same tone, but they are not. Some have a yellow undertone while others are more brown/khaki.
I finally found the perfect one for me at Aritzia. The Babaton Stedman Wool Coat. It is perfect for olive skin tones and looks beautiful dressed up for work or dressed down with jeans.
It’s 96% wool and 4% nylon. It feels buttery soft and is warm enough to wear all-winter long. The wool is sourced from Italy and it shows, the coat feels very luxurious. It has a one-button closure and hits me mid-calf. This coat was originally $298 which is worth every penny, but now it’s almost 50% off! This coat will last for YEARS!!!!
Another great option for people with fair skin is a more yellow-based khaki coat from Ralph Lauren. The Wool Blend Reefer is a classic single breast coat that hits mid-thigh. It is 60% wool, 20% polyester, 10% viscose, 5% nylon, 5% other fibers, making it not as warm as the Stedman coat, but a good alternative if you like to layer.
Here are some of my favorite camel coats:
